About me

Hi, my name is Göze* and I am a bilingual integrative psychotherapist working with adults and children, in English and Turkish. I am a registered member of the BACP and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. My background is in theatre and performance focusing on archetypes as a creative method. I have been working closely with artists, performers, students and academics for over twenty years.

About my practice

My therapeutic practice reflects and respects that our lives are complex, beautiful and troubling, often weaving together less-than-ideal childhoods, traumatic past experiences, formative relationship models, and survival behaviours that stick and become habit. These show up unconsciously in our minds, as ways of thinking that seem difficult to shift; in our psyches, as recurring dreams and feelings; in our bodies, as specific postures or chronic pain; and in our relationships, as predictable patterns and role dynamics.

My practice includes working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, adverse childhood experiences, domestic abuse and violence, loneliness, migration and displacement, burnout, parenting and caring challenges, bereavement and loss. I am warm and compassionate and build a collaborative and empathetic relationship with my clients where they feel safe enough to bring their whole selves – all the intersections of their identity including gender, race, class, sexuality, age, education, religion, spirituality, disability and neurodiversity.

Some of my clients work through life transitions with me, others process crisis points that unearth lingering issues. I work collaboratively with clients to develop insight into their selves and cultivate more freedom and hope in their lives.

Practical information

I usually work in twenty-week blocks, though I adapt my practice to each client’s needs – we can extend when required and agreed.

Each session lasts fifty minutes and takes place on the same day at the same time, either in person at Space To Be You in Hackney, or online, or on the phone, and costs £70.

I offer a free fifteen-minute phone consultation – this is an initial conversation to check availability and a chance to raise any questions you might have regarding therapy with me.

Alternatively, we can have a 50-minute online session (at the reduced rate of £50) to discuss more extensively what brings you to therapy and how we might work together, and see whether you feel I am the right therapist for you.

Email me at [email protected] to organise.
