About me

Hello, I’m Emma, a Clinical Psychologist specialising in work with children and young people with neurodevelopmental differences including Autism, ADHD, difficulties with learning, and long-term health conditions.

I carry out neurodevelopmental and neuropsychological assessments to support the understanding of children’s experiences. I believe that by recognising a child or young person’s individual strengths and needs, they can be better understood by themselves, their family and other important people in their lives.

I provide psychological intervention to children and their families, as well as post-diagnostic parent support.

Since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 2008, I have predominantly worked within the NHS in a range of children’s services. Since 2012 I have also undertaken work in private practice.

My therapeutic approach always considers the needs of the whole family. I work systemically with children and families and use a range of interventions including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, ACT and EMDR approaches to work towards agreed therapeutic goals.

I know that seeking support from a psychologist can feel like a big step. I have a non-judgmental and open approach when working with individuals. I am dedicated to working with children, their families and carers, to make changes in order to help them to live their best lives.
