Isabella Zoltowski – Psychotherapist
About my practice
“Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack, a crack, in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” – Leonard Cohen
Hello, I’m Isabella, I’m a qualified integrative therapist who practises relationally. I believe the quality of our relationships – both past and present, has a huge effect on our sense of self, our self-worth and our ability to manage powerful emotions.
Many of my clients have experienced difficult or traumatic relationships in childhood or as adults, and I can help you to reflect on your own behaviour and relating patterns and support you in letting go of unhelpful defences. We will consider what has happened to you rather than what is wrong with you, as well focusing on how to move forwards in life through forming fulfilling relationships and making better, freer choices.
Seeking therapy can feel like an overwhelming juncture, you are probably feeling anxious, overwhelmed or a bit low. There are any number of reasons my clients come to therapy, perhaps you are facing relationship issues; or are coming up against one of life’s major stages; you may be suffering loneliness or a lack of purpose; you may be confused about neuro-diversity; or maybe you are finding it hard to balance your work and family life. Perhaps you don’t really know what’s going on but just need someone to talk things through with.
Many of us are left feeling that there is something wrong with us and feel we should be able to manage problems in living on our own so I’m here to offer you an uncritical, compassionate, impartial and sometimes challenging relationship to process whatever is going on for you in an empathetic way.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of modalities depending on your needs and situation this includes psychodynamic work considering how past experiences or relationship patterns may be unconsciously affecting you in the present; existential themes of living that all humans deal with, drawing on useful CBT techniques where appropriate.
Therapy with me is collaborative with an emphasis on building a secure, trusting relationship between us, I’ll bring awareness of what is going on in the relationship between us into the therapy.
