About me

I am Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years’ experience working with a range of clients across the life span (children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples) with a focus on distress following a significant life event or difficulties living with a health condition or following a loss or bereavement.

My therapeutic work draws on several psychological approaches, including systemic, Narrative, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). I feel it is important to offer a flexible and collaborative approach that is tailored to your unique situation and needs. I realise starting therapy can be daunting and I will support you to take this step in a way that works for you.

I have experience of working in various areas of physical health, including oncology, sexual health, infectious disease medicine, critical care and with children and adults following acute illness or a chronic health diagnosis.

In addition to working directly with individuals and families seeking psychotherapeutic support, I have experience of providing clinical supervision to other psychologist or therapist and working with teams and organisations processing the effects of change, a crisis and trauma.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC), the regulatory body for Clinical Psychologist.

Getting started

In the first meeting we will discuss your hopes for therapy, and you will have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about starting psychological therapy.

If you are seeking therapy for your child, I will firstly meet with you without your child, and we will discuss your concerns. I will ask you about your child’s development and current coping and explain how I work and how to talk your child about therapy.

You may set up your first appointment by sending me an email with a brief description of your situation together with any other relevant information or questions. Or you can request an initial free 20-minute phone consultation where we can briefly discuss the reasons for you seeking psychological support and the best format for this to take place.
