Nasrin Begum – Children, Adults, Couples and Family Psychotherapist and EMDR therapist

Nasrin Begum - Couples and Family Counsellor and Psychotherapist

About Me

My name is Nasrin Begum and I am a psychotherapist who works with children, adults, couples and families.

I work with diverse issues and have extensive experience in helping people with challenging relationships. I am an engaging therapist who listens and shares my ideas and experiences. I have been told that I am a warm and open person. I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental environment for you and work with your strengths to help create positive changes in your life.

I am a fully registered member of UKCP with more than 20 years experience of working with children and adults in charity and social care settings. As well as having psychoanalytic training and being systemically trained, I am a qualified Non-Violent Resistance practitioner supporting families who have children and young people who present with violent behaviour. I am a qualified Theraplay Practitioner using attachment-based games with caregivers and their children who have behavioural issues. I have a range of experience including working with autism, disabilities and reunification between family members.

I specialise in working with anxiety and trauma. I am trained in EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. EMDR is useful for treating PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). EMDR is recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
